Head study
Bronze, dark brown patina. Mono-Size "E. B.", Expl. No. "6". Foundry Stamp 'Noack Berlin'. Marble base. CR. Laur 345. Posthumous casting in a limited edition of 12 Copies. after a clay model of the 1922, 1980 and executed. In the head study, it is likely to be a portrait of Käthe Kollwitz, which is shown with closed eyes, gescheiteltem hair and knots in the neck. Barlach, the learned, the artist is already in 1912 in the Berlin secession are familiar with, immortalized in 1927, again in the face of the famous "Floating angel" in the Güstrower Dom. H. 7.2 cm; Ges.-H. 13.5 cm.
Provenance: Private Collection Southern Germany.
Dark brown patinated bronze. Monogrammed and numbered '6', foundry mark 'Noack Berlin'. Marble base. Posthumous cast after 1980 from a total edition of 12, executed after a clay model from 1922.
