Kiel", zudem am Unterrand in Bleistift betitelt und mit Bezeichnungen einiger der dargestellten Gebäude wie "Germania Werft" oder "Studentenheim Seeburg". Gekonnte Ansicht des herbstlichen Kiel mit dem Rathaus und der Nikolaikirche. Bildmaße 46,5 x 68 cm. Unter Glas in altem, schlichtem Holzrahmen, die Rückabdeckung professionell erneuert. Ernst Vollbehr studierte Kunst in Berlin, Dresden, Paris und Rom, war Kriegsmaler im Ersten Weltkrieg und erhielt als NSDAP-Mitglied ab 1933 zahlreiche Staatsaufträge für Bilder von den Reichsparteitagen, den Berliner Olympiabauten oder den Reichsautobahnen. Auch im Zweiten Weltkrieg war er wieder als Maler an der Front, erhielt 1941 die Goethe-Medaille für Kunst und Wissenschaft und wurde 1944 auf die "Gottbegnadeten-Liste" gesetzt.
