Lot 39 | EXTRATERRESTRIAL GEMSTONES IN COMPLETE SLICE OF NWA 4506 METEORITE
Estimate value
£ 4 000 – 6 000
This beautiful meteorite was found in Morocco in 2006 by nomads in the Sahara Desert looking for their camels. One mass was found weighing only 5 kilograms. Despite intensive searches for years, no further pieces were found. The pallasites are among the least common of meteorites, and among the most aesthetically pleasing, making them highly desired by all collectors. Considered to be core-mantle boundary material, pallasites originate from deep in the interior of a large differentiated asteroid that was destroyed by impact collision.
