Lot 1174 | Exzellente Bronze eines Samurai. JAPAN, Meiji-Periode (1868-1912).
Expressive Darstellung eines Kriegers. Er trägt eine prächtige Rüstung, die fein geschmückt ist mit Fledermäusen, Drachen und Phönixen zwischen Wolkenwirbeln. Der Beinbereich oberhalb der Rüstungsschuhe zeigt florale Muster mit Crysanthemen. Fein ausgearbeitete Gesichtszüge, der Kopf ist mit einem Helm geschützt. In dynamischer Bewegung hält der Samurai linksseitig mit beiden Händen einen Stab. An seinem Gürtel trägt er rückseitig sein Katana-Langschwert. Bronze, Details mit Gold tauschiert, auf Holzstand montiert, den feiner Goldlackdekor ziert. Am rechten Knie signiert. Abgesehen von einer Beschädigung an der Halterung des Katana Langschwerts in sehr gutem Zustand. Aus einer alten Süddeutschen Privatsammlung.

Excellent bronze figure of a samurai. Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912). Cast in standing posture. Wearing elaborate armor with fine brocade patterns, dragons, amidst clouds and flowers. Expressive facial features. On his left he holds with both hands a trident. Bronze, partly gilded details, mounted on a wood stand with gold lacquer decoration. Signed at the right side on the knee. On the backside damaged at the fixture of the katana sword. Otherwise very good condition. From an old Southern German private collection.
