Lot 2046 Fan painted with eight tigers and the Bagong
China. In the style of Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) Zhang Shanzi (1882-1940).

Colors and ink on yellowish mica paper. Cover sheets made of dark hard wood, finely carved in low Relief. The Eight scholars under the trees, painted in the style of Daqian, alternating with eight tigers
Rocks and Grass in the style of Shanzi. Presumably, the representation refers to the 'Eight
Immortals of Huainan', which are also called bagong (Eight Gentlemen). To the outside
on the deck, the Eight horses of king Mu of the Zhou dynasty scroll in low Relief. Length 33.8 cm, open width 58.5 cm. Matching Fabric Case. Condition A/B.
Inscriptions and signatures:
Renshen Qiu Jiu Yue Xie Yu Hai Shang Da Qing Ju Shi Yuan - Painted in the autumn, September, 1932, in Shanghai of Daqien. Victory Length: Da Qian.
Ren shen Qiu Jiu Yue Zhang Shang Zi Xie Yu Da Feng Tang Zhong - Painted in the autumn, in September 1932, in the studio of Zhang Shanzi. Victory Length: Zhang Shan Zi.
