Lot 768 | Fahnentuch der Regimentsstandarte des Ulanen-Regiments "Graf zu Dohna" (Ostpreußisches) Nr. 8, um 1900
Mehrlagiges Tuch, mehrteilig vernäht, beidseitig gemusterte blaue sowie weiße und schwarze Seide mit reicher Stickerei aus silbernem Faden, von roter Seide akzentuiert, silberner Fransenbehang. Im Zentrum handgestickt der fliegende preußische Adler mit Banderole "PRO GLORIA ET PATRIA", umgeben von silbergesticktem Lorbeerkranz, darüber die preußische Königskrone. In den schwarz-weiß-schwarzen Eckflächen jeweils die handgestickte silberne bekrönte Herrscherchiffre "WR" im Lorbeerkranz. Das Fahnentuch wurde von der Fahnenstange abgenommen, das Umschlagtuch nicht abgeschnitten. Größe der Fahne ca. 51 x 81 cm. Teilweise Fehlstellen, Risse, Gesamtzustand jedoch gut.
Es befinden sich heute nur noch ganz wenige Standarten der preußischen Kavallerie in Privatbesitz. Im Mai 1945 wurden viele Fahnen und Standarten von der Roten Armee erbeutet und lagern heute in Moskau, einige liegen in deutschen Museen, etliche wurden jedoch im Krieg zerstört.

Multi-layered cloth composed of several pieces sewn together, blue, white and black silk patterned on both sides with rich embroidery of silver thread, accentuated with red silk, silver fringes. In the centre hand-embroidered flying Prussian eagle with banner "PRO GLORIA ET PATRIA", surrounded by a laurel wreath embroidered in silver, surmounted by the royal Prussian crown. The corner areas in black-white-black with hand-embroidered crowned sovereign’s cipher "WR" in silver within a laurel wreath. The flag cloth was removed from the flagpole, the cover cloth was not cut off. Size of the flag approximately 51 x 81 cm. Isolated flaws, torn, overall condition good.
Only very few standards of the Prussian cavalry are in private possession today. In May 1945, many flags and standards were looted by the Red Army and are now on storage in Moscow, some are on display in German museums, many of them, however, were destroyed during the war.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
