Oktagonaler Lauf mit glatter Seele im Kaliber 12,7 mm mit Resten der originalen Bräunierung. Linksseitig am Lauf neuartige Stempelung. Brünierte Hakenschwanzschraube, mit Platin gefütterte Marke "JOSEPH MANTON PATENT" und in Platin gefertigter Zierstreifen, Zündloch ebenfalls Platin gefüttert. Schwanzschraubenblatt mit Tropaionsgravur. Fein gravierte Schlossplatte und Schwanenhalshahn, Schlossplatte mit "JOSEPH MANTON LONDON" signiert und Sicherung (defekt) am hinteren Teil der Schlossplatte. Feder mit Resten von Bundhärtung und Stecherabzug. Halbschäftung aus Walnussholz mit Eisengarnitur und Hornnase. Abzugsbügel ebenfalls fein graviert. Brünierte Führschiene für den Ladestock am Lauf vor der Schaftnase angelötet. Reibspuren an dem Korn und an der Mündung, Ladestock fehlend. Länge 38 cm.
Joseph Manton (1766 - 1835), geboren in Grantham, führte 1789 - 1829 ein und zweitweise ein zweites Geschäft und erhielt von 1792 - 1825 zahlreiche Patente.

Octagonal, smooth-bore barrel in 12.7 mm calibre with remnants of the original bluing. A new type of stamp on the left side of the barrel. Blued patent breechblock with platinum-inlaid mark "JOSEPH MANTON PATENT" and decorative platinum line. The vent hole also inlaid in platinum. Tropaion ornaments engraved on the tang. Finely engraved lock plate and swan neck cock, the lock plate signed "JOSEPH MANTON LONDON" and (defective) safety on the rear section of the lock plate. The spring with remnants of colour case hardening and set trigger. Walnut half stock with iron furniture and horn nose. Fine engraving also on the trigger guard. Blued guide rail for the ramrod soldered to the barrel before the nosepiece. Friction marks on the front sight and at the muzzle, no ramrod. Length 38 cm.
Joseph Manton (1766 - 1835) was born in Grantham, ran his workshop and a temporary second workshop between 1789 and 1829, obtaining numerous patents between 1792 and 1825.
