A FINE ICON SHOWING THE VLADIMIRSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD WITH A SILVER-GILT OKLAD Russian, 2nd quarter 19th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, 1837 (oklad) Oil on wood panel with velvet backing. The oklad chased wtih flower-decorated robes within border of ruffled acanthus and flowers, labeled plaques in floral surrounds, with past-set halos. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'ee'. 33 x 25.5 cm.
