A Longquan celadon mallet-form vase, southern Song Dynasty
Well potted vase with a mallet-shaped body. The sides slightly tapering towards the foot from the canted shoulder. The tall neck is flanked by a pair of phoenix handles below the widely flared mouth with upturned rim. Covered overall with an even glaze of soft sea-green tone, which also covers the inside of the foot and the flat base. Broken at the base of the neck and expertly restored. Otherwise intact! Height 26.8 cm.

Longquan-Seladon-Mallet-Vase, südliche Song-Dynastie
Formschöne Vase. Die Seiten verjüngen sich leicht zum Fuß hin. Der hohe Hals wird flankiert von einem Paar Phönix-Henkeln. Weit ausladende Mündung mit umgeschlagenem Rand. Gleichmäßige Glasur in weichem meergrünen Ton, die auch die Innenseite des Fußes und den flachen Boden bedeckt. Am Halsansatz gebrochen und fachmännisch restauriert. Ansonsten intakt! Höhe 26,8 cm.
