Central Persia, circa 1910
The figural carpet represents the ruler of the Persian history and a scene from Persian mythology. On brick-red abrasch a motivating reason, the Prince figures series part ganzfigurig, sometimes only as a bust, to two key scenes: at the lower field edge of the heroic Achaemenid king Jamschid and the mixed beings, "Abul-Haul" in the fight. The death of the fabulous beast is a symbol for the victorious and glorious history of the Persian rule. In a richly decorated box is set, the well as a Symbol of Power, a throne presented. The field is framed by cartouche with an inscription in Nasta'liq-Duktus. Narrow braid with Medachyl, flower and cross motifs frame the sürmeygrundige main border with a flower vine, bouquets of flowers and Paradise birds.

Provenance: The 25.2.1977 in the German carpet trade purchased. Since then, continuously in a North German family-owned. - Compare: Sotheby's, New York, Sale N08503, Lot 152. - Restorations. The Smallest Alterssch. and signs of wear Overall good and with a fine Kork wool pile.
