Ferdinando Pogliani (Milano, 1832 - Milano, 1899). Изумительный письменный стол эбенового дерева в стиле Нео-Ренессанс с гротескными инкрустациями слоновой кости и черепахи. Представляет собой великолепное авторское прочтение ренессансной эпохи выдающего Миланского мебельщика Фардинандо Полиани. Стяжавшего славу гениев возрождения. Лауреата многих Европейских премий. Поставщика двора Наполеона III. Двухуровневый прямоугольный стол с откидными панелями, на усеченных пирамидальных ножках, с резной доской жесткости и шарообразных опорах под ногами. Искусно воссоздает деловитый архаизм форм и нарядное богатство декора. Геометрический принцип организации декора предполагает хитроумное единство квадратов, прямоугольников, ромбов, треугольников в симметричном ансамбле столешницы. На темном фоне отлично читаются витиеватые гирлянды с причудливыми животными, треугольники вазонов и центральная панель с гравированной по кости сценой любовного вуайеризма за туалетом нимф. Цветность композиции придают элементы черепахи, разбросанные по всему периметру изделия. Аллегорические сцены на откидных панелях и доске жесткости умножают атмосферу возвышенной героики. Так в круглых медальонах дополнительных створок размещены фигуры молодого обнаженного и старого война, который, кутаясь в плащ греется у дымящей жаровни. По середине же, на доске жесткости, грациозно изображен молодой выпивоха, сидящий на бочонке вина, что вероятно означает торжество текущей жизни между рьяностью молодости и мудростью старости.
