A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI - Tibet, 18th c. - Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with both hands resting in dhyanamudra on his lap, wearing monastic garment including an underskirt secured around the middle with a belt and a mantle covering both shoulders, his cold-gilded face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into the nose-bridge, raised urna at his forehead, painted facial details, elongated earlobes and the blue coloured hairdo continuing into the ushnisha topped with a lotus bud, sealed. - From the estate of the collection of Prof. Dr. med., Dr. phil. Hermann Schroeder (1902-1991) and his family - Minor wear, small break in the crook of the arm

Im Vajrasana auf einem Lotossockel sitzend, beide Hände im Dhyanamudra auf dem Schoß ruhend, in klösterlicher Kleidung mit einem Unterrock, der in der Mitte mit einem Gürtel befestigt ist, und einem Mantel, der beide Schultern bedeckt, sein kaltvergoldetes Gesicht zeigt einen heiteren Ausdruck mit niedergeschlagenen Augen unter gewölbten Augenbrauen, die in den Nasensteg übergehen, erhobene Urna an der Stirn, gemalte Gesichtsdetails, verlängerte Ohrläppchen und die blau gefärbte Frisur, die sich in die mit einer Lotusknospe gekrönte Ushnisha fortsetzt, versiegelt.
