A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF VAISHRAVANA - Tibeto-Chinese, 18th c. - Seated astride the caparisoned lion reclining on a lotus base with his roaring head facing the viewer, showing painted double row of teeth and fangs, painted manes and tail, Vaishravana's right hand demonstrating a form of vitarkamudra originally holding the banner while his left hand is supporting the mongoose, wearing armour, tunic with flaring sleeves, skirt, boots, scarf floating around his shoulders, his face displaying a fierce expression with protruding eyes below raised eyebrows, pouting lips, goatee, beard, elongated earlobes with large ear ornaments, his blue coloured hairdo combed in a chignon and secured with a tiara, resealed. - From an old southern German private collection, supplemented by inheritance in the 1950s and acquisitions in the 1960s to the 1980s - Slightly chipped, minor wear

Rittlings auf dem bekleideten Löwen sitzend, der auf einem Lotossockel ruht, den brüllenden Kopf dem Betrachter zugewandt, mit gemalter doppelter Zahnreihe und Reißzähnen, gemalter Mähne und Schwanz, die rechte Hand Vaishravanas, die eine Form von Vitarkamudra demonstriert, hält ursprünglich das Banner, während die linke Hand den Mungo stützt, in Rüstung, Tunika mit ausladenden Ärmeln, Rock, Stiefel, um die Schultern geschlungener Schal, das Gesicht mit grimmigem Ausdruck, hervorstehenden Augen unter hochgezogenen Augenbrauen, schmollenden Lippen, Spitzbart, Bart, verlängerten Ohrläppchen mit großem Ohrschmuck, die blaue Frisur zu einem Dutt gekämmt und mit einem Diadem befestigt, wieder verschlossen.
