Maker/Designer: Mount Athos.
Technique: Boxwood carved. Stand made of silver with 4 amethysts.
Description: In the center of one side the birth of Christ. Around it the Annunciation of the Lord, the journey to Bethlehem and the flight into Egypt. Below, the blessing of the children in the temple of Galilee, the meeting with Hannah and Simeon(?) and the Solemnity of Mary.
The other side with the Crucifixion in the central field surrounded by the Baptism, the Resurrection and the Transfiguration of Christ. Below, the Descent from the Cross, the Lamentation and the Entombment.
In the side panels other scenes or depictions of saints.
Measurement: 25,5x8,5x2,3cm. Height incl. stand 37,5cm.
Mark: Foot marked: crescent & crown, fineness 800, maker's mark Bruckmann and Sons. In the inscription dated 1913.
On the bottom of the foot with inscription:
"This cross has been in the possession of the Schmitz Werotte family for a long time and always passes to the eldest daughter. It was created in the middle of the 17th century. In May 1913, Mrs. Anna Gansen inherited it; the same had the long-lost silver foot remade by the jeweler Dix in Bonn. Bonn, Christmas 1913".

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
