China. 1. Half of the Ming dynasty, or later. Longquan Furnaces.

In the fire red discoloured shards of glass, covered with a matt shimmering, green celadon glaze (so-called Tenryûji seiji). Bulbous bottle with almost horizontal edge of the lips, far from the level of the ring. The only ornament of the
elegant Form of the four double notches on the body, in which the glaze is affected by the thicker
layer of dark. Height 22.6 cm, Ø 12cm. Condition A. enclosed: Painted wood box (urushibako) with a Lid.
