Large 4to (372 x 278mm.), half-title, hand-coloured lithographed additional title, dedication to Her Royal Highness the Princess Victoria, 11 hand-coloured lithographed plates heightened with gum arabic, publisher's advertisement leaf at rear, original green grained cloth, with ornamental vase of flowers gold-stamped on both covers, spine gilt, edges gilt, yellow endpapers, one plate creased at outer margin,boards slightly dampstained, extremities slightly rubbed

Louisa Anne Twamley (1812-1895) was an Anglo-Australian writer and illustrator, and one of the earliest photographers in Australia.
