Form watch/ pendant watch: exquisite "Boule de Geneve" ball form watch with granulation and diamond setting, No.18474, probably Patek Philippe, Geneva ca. 1860
Ca. Ø18mm, ca. 15.5g, 18K gold, the entire case decorated in a special granulation technique, middle part set with rose cut diamonds, patent case with winding mechanism and time setting by turning the case halves, ultra-fine miniature lever movement with moustache lever, similar constructed to the well-known signed Patek Philippe ball watch movements (see Huber & Banbery page 75), plate numbered 18474 on both sides, case 14474, typical enamel dial with red 12, tip of the later hour hand is missing, overall in very beautiful condition, movement needs cleaning, 2 of the small case screws are missing. The watch is a rarity and possibly an unsigned early Patek Philippe. The watch shown in Huber & Banbery page 75 is identical in construction and also bears a low 5-digit number, namely 16010 and is additionally punched with Patek Philippe and the number 157415. A ball watch with an almost identical case down to the last detail, signed Patek Philippe, was offered by Dr. Crott in the 94th auction in 2016 as lot 381 (https://www.cortrie.de/go/NK8).
