Brandrisse, Schleifen minimal bestoßen, partiell min. berieben Als die Ära des traditionellen italienischen Theaters auf den Märkten und Straßen langsam zu Ende ging, bekam Commedia dell'arte in der Porzellankunst des 18. Jahrhunderts ihr erneutes Aufleben. Die berühmten Charaktere der italienischen Komödie wurden zu einem der beliebtesten Motive, in dem sich die angesehensten Modelleure - unter anderem Kaendler, Reinicke und Feilner - die Inspiration für ihre Werke schöpften. Eine eigene Auffassung des bekannten Themas erschuf auch Franz Anton Bustelli (1723-1763) für die Nymphenburger Manufaktur in den 1760er Jahren. Die von ihm entworfenen 16 Figuren aus der Commedia dell'arte bilden den Höhepunkt seiner künstlerischen Karriere. Seine alten Ausformungen der bekanntesten italienischen Truppe sind äußerst selten und gehören zu den größten Raritäten der deutschen Porzellankunst.
