1934. Öl und Eitempera/Lw./Holz. 60 x 99,5 cm. Originaler Rahmen. R. u. sign. und dat. Lenk 1934, verso Etikett der Galerie Gerstenberger mit Titel sowie Ausst.-Etiketten des Carnegie Institute Pittsburgh. Kl. Farbverluste. - Gutachten: Aus dem Besitz des Künstlers ausgeliehen für eine Ausstellung im Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh - Provenienz: Galerie Gerstenberger, Chemnitz; von den Eltern der Einlieferin um 1939/40 in München gekauft; seitdem in Familienbesitz. - Deutscher Landschaftsmaler der Neuen Sachlichkeit. Nach einer Lehre als Lithograph studierte L. bis 1924 an der Dresdener Akademie bei R. Müller und L. von Hofmann und als Meisterschüler von F. Dorsch. 1926-38 war er Professor für Landschaftsmalerei in Berlin, 1935 stellte er gemeinsam mit O. Dix bei Nierendorf in Berlin aus. Er legte die Professur aus Protest gegen die Kulturpolitik der Nationalsozialisten nieder und siedelte nach Süddeutschland über. 1950 erhielt er einen Lehrauftrag am Carnegie Institut in Pittsburgh.
