Franz von Lenbach, einer der bedeutendsten deutschen Portraitisten. Insbesondere seine rund 80 Portraits des Fürsten von Bismarck, aber auch die der Kaiser Wilhelm I. und Wilhelm II. oder des österreichischen Kaisers Franz Joseph I. begründeten den Ruf des Münchner Malerfürsten. 1882 wurde er durch die Verleihung des Verdienstordens der Bayerischen Krone in den persönlichen Adelsstand erhoben.
Provenienz: ZAM - Zentrum für Außergewöhnliche Museen, München. Ausgestellt unter der Inventarnummer 48 in der Sonderausstellung "Das Siegel in meiner Hand - Petschaften bedeutender Persönlichkeiten des 18., 19. und des frühen 20. Jhdts." vom 23.7. bis 15.11.2001. Dazu das ehemalige Inventarkärtchen und in Kopie ein Presseschreiben für die Ausstellung der damaligen Museumsleiterin, in dem dieses Petschaft erwähnt wird.
Gilt bronze. Eagle with spread wings, protecting its nest on a tree stump. Octagonal seal surface with cut coat of arms of Franz von Lenbach. Overall height 76 mm.
Franz von Lenbach was one of the most significant German portraitists. In particular, his roughly 80 portraits of Prince of Bismarck and also those of Emperors William I and II or the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I won him a reputation as one of the most famous Munich painters. In 1882, he was raised to nobility with the award of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown.
Provenance: ZAM- Zentrum für Außergewöhnliche Museen (Centre for Exceptional Museums), Munich. Displayed under inventory no. 48 in the special exhibition "Das Siegel in meiner Hand - Petschaften bedeutender Persönlichkeiten des 18., 19. und des frühen 20. Jhdts." (tr. "The seal in my hand - seals belonging to significant personalities of the 18th, 19th and early 20th century") from 23 July to 15 November 2001. Included is the former exhibition card and a copy of the press release for the exhibition, written by the director of the museum at the time.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
