César Klein ( Hamburg 1876 - Lübeck 1954 ) . Important German painter, graphic artist & stage designer, all the decisive force of the modern art movements of the 20th century. Century from the late impressionism & expressionism, through cubism, to free image form in his work, and realized it & helped to shape. K. studied at the Hamburg school of applied arts & teaching Institute of the kunstgewerbemuseum in Berlin. Later, he was a Board member of the German Werkbund. In 1910, he was one of the founders of the New secession, and the November group in Berlin. He was a lecturer at the Berlin Academy and, after 1945, the first London eye was a German artist. His brother is the painter Bernhard K.
