Saporta begann seine militärische Ausbildung bei der Pagerie und trat dann in das bayerische Heer ein. Dort wurde er Adjutant des Prinzen Otto. Als dieser 1832 König in Griechenland wurde, begleitete er ihn als Hauptmann nach Griechenland und wurde dort dessen Hofmarschall. Im Auftrag Ottos nahm er dort auch naturwissenschaftliche Forschungen auf. 1837 kehrte er nach Bayern zurück. Dort wurde er durch Ludwig I. zum Hofmarschall von Königin Therese bestellt. Aus dem Militärdienst schied er als Generalmajor aus und wurde zum königlichen Kämmerer ernannt.

Rifled, octagonal barrels with somewhat rough bores in 11.5 mm calibre, the top of each inscribed "Saporta". Dovetailed brass front sights, fixed rear sights with two flaps on the tangs. Converted percussion locks with chiselled cocks, nipple protectors and likewise chiselled, external springs for the safeties. Set triggers. Full stocks with horn nose pieces and blued, smooth and curved iron furniture. The fluted grips with brass grip caps. Wooden ramrods with horn tips. Length of each 39 cm.
Saporta began his military training in the Page Corps before enlisting with the Bavarian army, where he served as adjutant to Prince Otto. When Otto became King of Greece in 1832, Saporta accompanied him as Hauptmann and was appointed his Hofmarschall there. Moreover, Otto also commissioned him to conduct scientific research in Greece. He returned to Bavaria in 1837, where Ludwig I appointed him Hofmarschall to Queen Therese. He retired from military service as Generalmajor and subsequently served as royal chamberlain.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
