Rosenthal, Mid 20's. Century Biscuit Porcelain. The draft of 1936. A squatting female current on the Side of the plinth signed 'F. Klimsch'. Manufacture brand. H. 41 cm. - Fritz Klimsch is one of the most outstanding sculptors of the 20th century. Century in Germany. He attended 1886-94 the Berlin Academy and was a student of Fritz Schaper. In 1898 he was a co-founder and Board member of the Berlin secession, and in 1921 a professorship at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Charlottenburg. After 1945, K. settled after a stay in Salzburg in Saig in Freiburg. Artistically K. was influenced by study trips to Italy and Greece. His extensive Oeuvre includes monuments, portraits, and single figures. Klimsch made especially the naked female ideal figure for the main theme of his art, such as the 'crouching' in 1913, 'bather' from 1918, the 'Pensive' in 1923.
