Lot 15 | From nobility - Highly refined blanket from the house v. Tessin
From aristocratic property - Very fine blanket from the house of v. Tessin from Hochdorf Castle (Eberdingen, district of Ludwigsburg) with an exciting history. According to the consignor, in the mid-1950s she was housed as an infant for a few months in the vicarage in Hochdorf, which is in the immediate vicinity of the castle. The childless Baroness Alice v. Tessin looked after her as an infant when the parish wife was very busy and often wrapped her in this blanket and was happy to carry the infant in her arms through the castle and garden. Finally, the baroness bequeathed this blanket to the parish wife as a gift for the child. Cyclamen-colored silk fabric with gold thread embroidery and gold borders. Approx. 2.08 x 2.08 m. The golden border was recently professionally restored in 2022 at the Burg Giebichenstein Art Academy in Halle. The object could originally also be a wall hanging or an altar cloth. The magnificent object can be presented as a noble eye-catcher as a ceiling or as a wall hanging in a spacious room. Signs of age, partially restored
