750/- yellow gold, silver, green enamel, total weight: 40.5 g. length about 9.0 cm. 7 faceted Almadine diameter approx: 7,4x7,4x4,7 - 3,6x2,8x1,6mm (part flaking), 9 freshwater cultured pearls, diameter approx. 5,4-2,8 mm, white-iridescent rose.
The rear FROMENT-MEURICE signed. A pendant in the Renaissance Revival style, the Saint Cecilia with a violin playing in the circles of four Putti. Francois-Désiré Froment-Meurice is considered one of the most important goldsmiths of the 19th century. Century, the focus of his Work, the Renaissance as well as Gothic Revival. Further illustrations of this brooch are in the jewellery Museum Pforzheim Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The color stone-Perl-elements are detachable.
