A copy on blue paper of the first edition of this fascinating historical work on Milan illustrated by Aspardi's fine engravings among which is a large folding engraved map of Milan. This is the first book printed by the Tipografia del Monastero of S. Ambrogio.

4to (260 x 198mm). Half-title, engraved frontispiece and title within architectural border, 8 headpieces of which 2 with city views and 6 with coins and bas-reliefs, 3 initials and 5 tail-pieces, all engraved, a plate with a facsimile of a document and a splendid large folding map of Milan. Modern binding preserving the contemporary green leather spine decorated in gilt (lightly rubbed); in a modern marble case.
