Густав Яковлевич Будковски. Жанровое полотно Любовное послание. Изображает юного пажа с любовным письмом перед дверью госпожи. Залогом страстей и чувств выступает красная драпировка, данная по вертикали. Полотно выполнено в духе исторического реализма и актуализирует события и нравы 17 века. Подпись автора и дата в правом нижнем углу. 1856 год. Холст, масло: 55Х42 см.Густав Даниэль Будковский: (Рига 1813-1884г Альбано). Старший современник К.Гуна и первопроходец западного исторического реализма в русской живописи. Академик исторической живописи ИАХ с 1855 гола. Из числа военных, польского происхождения. Получал образование в стенах Российской Академии Художеств, в классе Брюлова, 2 года провел в Дюссельдорфе, 7 лет в Париже, последние годы жил в Риме.
