1986. Bronze, braun patiniert. Figuren: 11,3 x 24,4 x 13 cm, Sockel: 10 x 8 x 13 cm. Auf dem Sockel sign. und dat. ENGST 86, hergestellt in der Gießerei Barth (kein Gießerstempel). Modell der Großplastik, die sich vor dem Werksgelände der R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in North-Carolina/USA.befindet. Auftraggeber war Kurt Körber, Inhaber der Hamburger Hauni-Werke, der die Gruppe den amerikanischen Geschäftspartnern als Geschenk überreichte. Nach Aussagen des Künstlers symbolisieren die 116 Einradfahrer die Mitarbeiter des Werkes. - Literatur: WVZ Tiedge 181 - Deutscher Bildhauer, studierte nach einem Theologiestudium Bildhauerei an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München bei Prof. A. Hiller und an der HFBK in Hamburg bei E. Scharff. Seit 1967 als freischaffender Künstler in Jersbek tätig, er erhielt zahlreiche staatliche Aufträge für öffentliche Bauten. Kleinplastische Arbeiten thematisieren häufig den Balanceakt, der als Metapher für den Menschen in der Gesellschaft gesehen werden kann - Gleichgewicht halten oder verlieren.
