Literature:
David Taylor, Jason Laskey: Georg Jensen - Holloware - The Silver Fund Collection, London 2003, for model see p.133.

After the end of the heyday of Art Nouveau at the beginning of the 20th century, two new silver workshops were founded that had a major influence on the development of the style in the years to come. Firstly, the founding of the Wiener Werkstätte in 1903 and that of the silversmith Georg Jensen in Copenhagen in 1904. "The appropriation of traditional forms, carefully modernised, was to remain just as characteristic of Georg Jensen's personal style as the adoption of vegetal Art Nouveau motifs (.). Both create a rich, decorative appearance, which nevertheless leaves enough room for a simple hand-forged silver surface. Georg Jensen's spontaneous success can be explained by his moderate conception of Art Nouveau, the dignified workmanship and a noblesse that even customers of traditional silver had to adopt." (Kerssenbrock-Krosigk, Dedo von: Metallkunst der Moderne - BröhanMuseum, Bestandskatalog VI, Leipzig 2001, p.58-59).
