Jeweils mehrteilig gearbeitetes und verschraubtes komplettes Set aus hellem und dunkelrot eingefärbtem Elfenbein. Die vollplastisch und detailliert geschnitzten Figuren in chinesischer Tracht mit unterschiedlichen Insignien in den Händen. Jeweils stehend auf verschieden großen, durchbrochen gearbeiteten "Magic balls". Die Türme als Elefanten, die Springer als Reiter gestaltet. Minimale Fehlstellen, ohne Schachbrett. Ungewöhnlich aufwendig gearbeitetes Schachspiel. Höhe 9,8 bis 20,8 cm.

Each piece made of several parts screwed together, the complete set in light-coloured and dark-red stained ivory. The three-dimensional figures wearing traditional Chinese costume, carved in great detail, holding different insignia in their hands. The figures each standing on different sized "magic balls", decorated with openwork. The rooks in the shape of elephants, the pawns as horsemen. Minor defects in places, no chessboard. The chess set wrought with exceptionally elaborate workmanship. Height 9.8 to 20.8 cm.
