Gezogener Lauf im Kaliber 17,5 mm, an der Mündung Bajonettschiene, auf der Oberseite Standvisier mit einer Klappe, über der Kammer mehrfach gestempelt, auf dem Schwanzschraubenblatt Reste einer Modellbezeichnung, Hahnschraube ergänzt. Aptiertes Perkussionsschloss mit verputzter Herstellerbezeichnung. Nussholzhalbschaft mit Eisen-/Messinggarnitur, zwei Riemenbügel. Ladestock fehlt. Eisenteile gereinigt, patiniert und stellenweise fleckig, Schaft mit Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren. Länge 86 cm. Nach der Auflösung der badischen Armee in den Revolutionsjahren 1848 und 1849 wurde bei der Neuaufstellung im Jahr 1850 auch ein neuer Pionierkarabiner entworfen. Bei der Fertigung verwendete man offenbar, wie auch bei der vorliegenden Waffe, Teile französischer Beutewaffen aus den Befreiungskriegen.
