"Das prächtige Werk ist wahrscheinlich auf Veranlassung und Kosten des Grafen Johann von Nassau entstanden" (Lipperh.). "Das grundlegende Werk für die Handhabung der Waffen des Fußvolks. In drei Teilen stellen 117 prachtvolle, ungewöhnlich große Folio-Radierungen die Handhabungen der Waffen dar: 42 Rad. die einfachen Rohre (ohne Stützgabel), 43 Rad. die Musketen und 32 Radierungen die Piken" (Jähns).
