Rare first editions of four works on animal motion and physiology by the outstanding Renaissance anatomist and founder of embryology. They were issued separately from 1614 to 1618 before being reissued together by Meglietti with a general title page dated 1625. The present lot is a contemporary assemblage of the separately issued texts. Fabrici studied at Padua with Gabriele Falloppio, whom he succeeded as teacher of anatomy upon the latter’s death in 1562. Quarto (200 x 140mm). Woodcut initials, head- and tail-pieces (De musculi lacking 4 preliminary leaves, first and last leaves browned at edges, occasional spotting and finger-soiling). Contemporary blind-ruled calf, morocco spine label lettered in gilt (rather worn with some loss of leather). Provenance: [Jean Blondelet].

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
