First edition of Aristotle's Politics translated and printed by Brucioli. A famous Florentine heretic and humanist, Brucioli is remembered for the translation of the Bible into the vernacular placed on the index in 1559. Of Florentine origin, he spent part of his life in Venice where he opened a printing shop; he was then banished from the lagoon city in 1548 when he was convicted of heresy.
