for science and art 1. Class, Portrait, Large, Carl Alexander, 1892-1902 Duke. Oval medal with the effigy of the Grand Duke Carl Alexander, the neck stamp cutters "section straightening" back side "of THE MERITS of HELP". Silver plated, chain-no version, geperltem band ring. The medal was worn on the red silk collar. The literature describes the medal is made of Gold, we expect, however, generally of silver, gold-plated copies. At the same time, also the medal for the Golden wedding with Necklace was donated to mount and manufactured, this is the case, only in silver gilt are known. Neither the copy of Kaiser Wilhelm II, still in our auctions, the auction copy from the estate of General von Scheffler-Knox were made of Gold. The medal was awarded for outstanding merits in the field of science and arts. The literature cites 12 ceremonies, for which we are not another preserved specimen is known.
