Two matching fragments of an elongated gold plate adorned with hunting scenes. Turned upper and lower edge, probably to attach the strip to a piece of clothing such as a belt. The figures are worked in repoussé and cold decorated with a bead and reel pattern. The animals and persons were portrayed with fine observational skills, a masterpiece of an early goldsmith. Slightly torn at the edges in some places. No replacements or restorations. Length 28 cm. Height 5.2 cm. Weight 49.4 g.
Provenance: Private collection from Rhineland-Palatinate, formed by the consignor's grandfather.

Goldbeschlag mit Jagdszene, Iran, 2. Jtsd. v. Chr.
Zwei aneinander passende Fragmente eines länglichen Goldblechs, das mit Jagdszenen verziert ist. Der obere und der untere Rand sind jeweils umgebogen, wohl um den Streifen an einem Trachtenbestandteil wie etwa einem Gürtel zu befestigen. Die Figuren sind in Repoussé-Technik gearbeitet und kalt verziert mit Punkt- und Strichdekorationen. Die Tiere und Menschen wurden mit feiner Beobachtungsgabe dargestellt, Meisterwerk eines frühen Goldschmieds. An den Rändern vereinzelt leicht eingerissen. Ohne Ergänzungen und Restaurierungen. Länge 28 cm. Höhe 5,2 cm. Gewicht 49,4 g.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
