Leicht gewölbter eiserner Schild mit zentral vernietetem Dorn und kräftigem, nach innen geschlagenem Brechrand. Ganzflächig getriebener, geschnittener und fein in Gold tauschierter Dekor mit Darstellung kämpfender Krieger in antikisierender Tracht. Umlaufender Randdekor aus getriebenen Buckeln mit geometrischem Golddekor. Auf der Rückseite umlaufende Belederung, die Befestigungsnieten mit Zierrosetten aus geprägtem Messing. Vernietete Handhaben aus geflochtenem Strick mit Resten der textilen Ummantelung aus rotem Samt. Durchmesser 55 cm.

Condition Report:
Metalloberfläche schauseitig mit dunkler Alterspatina. Die Goldeinlagen berieben, stellenweise kleine Fehlstellen. Die Oberflächen der Rückseite ungereinigt mit kräftiger, teils leicht korrodierter Patina. Am Rand anhaftend geringe Reste des ursprünglichen Lederfutters, die Haltegriffe mit Resten von rotem Samtbezug.
A Milanese gold-inlaid roundel, Italy, circa 1560/70
Slightly domed, iron roundel with a spike riveted in the centre and a sturdy flange struck inwards. The entire surface covered in hammered, chiselled décor with fine gold inlays featuring a scene of warriors fighting in antique-style dress. A continuous border of chased bosses with geometric gold décor around the edge. The back covered with leather, the rivets with decorative rosettes in embossed brass. Riveted handles of braided rope with remnants of the textile wrapping in red velvet. Diameter 55 cm.

The metal surface with a dark age patina on the front. The gold inlays rubbed, with small flaws in places. The rear surfaces uncleaned, with a substantial patina, slightly corroded in places. Scant traces of the original leather lining adhering to the edge, the handles with remnants of the red velvet cover.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
