Leicht geschwungene Rückenklinge aus Wootz-Damast mit angedeuteter Ferse, terzseitig entlang des Klingenrückens sowie am Ansatz ausführliche Inschrift, die sich auf die Herrscher der seinerzeit indischen Provinz Sindh bezieht, beidseitig dazu je ein Medaillon, im Ortbereich leicht narbig. Typisch geformtes Gefäß mit langem Mitteleisen und vollflächiger Goldtausia. Samtbezogene Scheide mit vergoldetem Ortblech. Länge 93 cm.

A magnificent Indian gold-inlaid tulwar, 18th century
The slightly curved, single-edged blade forged in wootz-Damascus with indicated heel, a lengthy inscription on the obverse running along the back of the blade and at the root, referring to the rulers of Sindh, at that time an Indian province, with a medallion on each side, light pitting at the chape. The hilt of characteristic shape with a long crosspiece and lavish gold inlays. The velvet-covered scabbard with a gilt chape. Length 93 cm.
