Kräftige Rückenklinge aus gemasertem Wootz-Damast mit beidseitig goldtauschierten Kartuschen mit Floraldekor. Typisches, vollflächig floral goldtauschiertes, eisernes Bügelgefäß. Textilbezogene Holzscheide mit zwei vergoldeten Tragespangen und en suite goldtauschiertem Ort- und Mundbeschlag. Gut erhaltene Goldtauschierung, originaler Textilbezug. Holzscheide und Textilbezug mit Altersspuren und kleinen Fehlstellen bzw. Rissen. Länge 90 cm. Vgl. Hermann Historica, Auktion 76, Los 2701, sehr ähnlicher Tulwar, verkauft für € 6.500.

A gold-inlaid Indian tulwar, 1st half of the 19th century
Sturdy single-edged blade of grained wootz-Damascus steel with flower cartouches inlaid in gold on both sides. Characteristic iron knuckle-bow hilt profusely decorated with flower ornaments inlaid in gold. Wooden scabbard with cloth cover, two gilt suspension bars, and locket and chape with en suite gold inlays. Well-preserved gold inlays, original cloth cover. Wooden scabbard and cloth cover with traces of age and minor flaws and tears, respectively. Length 90 cm. Cf. Hermann Historica, auction 76, lot 2701, very similar tulwar, sold for € 6,500.
