A large octagonal Chinese phoenix double gourd vase, 19th century or later
Splendidly designed octagonal vase with rich phoenix motifs in fine blue and white underglaze painting. In addition to the peace-bringing phoenix, other auspicious symbols in the panels. The underside unglazed. Fire crack at the foot. Otherwise intact. Height 51 cm. Diameter 27 cm.

Provenance: From the estate of a Munich private collection, acquired on the German art market before 1980.

Trefflich gestaltete oktagonale Vase mit reichen Phönixmotiven in feiner blau-weißer Unterglasurmalerei. Neben dem friedensbringenden Phönix noch weitere Glückssymbole in den Feldern. Brandriss am Fuß. Sonst intakt. Höhe 51 cm. Durchmesser 27 cm.
