1966. Unikat. Bronze, dunkelbraune Patina. Auf der Plinthe ligierte Signatur 'EAugustin'. 83,5 x 35,7 x 19,3 cm. - E. Fuchs-Belhamri charakterisiert die künstlerischen Möglichkeiten, die sich Augustin in der fragmentierten Darstellung des Körpers boten, wie folgt: 'Der Mensch tritt hier nicht als Individuum mit porträthaften Zügen in Erscheinung. Er bleibt schemenhaft typisiert...doch gerade durch ihre Verhüllung und Verschnürung steigern sie die Wahrnehmung ihrer körperlichen Ausstrahlung zu höchster Intensität und Assoziationsfülle...In dieser Aufhebung des Eindeutigen liegt die ebenso faszinierende wie tiefere Wirkung seiner Werke begründet. Bereits 1966 erhielt A. das Lichtwark-Stipendium der Stadt Hamburg, im Jahr darauf den Rompreis der Villa Massimo, 1975 den Edwin-Scharff-Preis. Sein Oeuvre besteht aus teilweise abstrahierten figürlichen Darstellungen in Bronze, Holz und Gips, aber auch Gemälden, Zeichungen und Graphiken.
