Über profiliertem, sich verjüngendem Rundfuß ovoider Korpus mit gerundeter Schulter, in eingezogenen Hals und weit ausschwingenden Rand übergehend. Seitliche, geschwungene, volutenartig eingerollte, oberhalb blattreliefierte Henkel, sich aus dem Ansatz eines Anthemions ausbildend. Beidseitig der Wandung großflächiges Arrangement aus blühenden sowie knospenden Rosen in weicher, impressionistisch anmutender polychromer Malerei. Goldstaffage. Modell-Nr. F 162. Schwertermarke. H. 46,5 cm.
Prof. Julius Eduard Braunsdorf (1841-1922) war von 1862 an Blumenmaler und seit 1880 zusätzlich Zeichenlehrer an der Meissener Porzellanmanufaktur. Der "geschickte Arrangeur von reich und geschmackvoll besetzten Blumenstillleben" pflegte einen freien Umgang mit dem Pinsel. Durch seinen lasierenden, fein akzentuierten Farbauftrag und die weichen, konturlosen Übergänge revolutionierte er die Meissener Blumenmalerei und beeinflusste sie nachhaltig.
