Bronze, patiniert. Darstellung des Kaisers in Uniform, auf seinem Pferd eines der Schlachtfelder des 70er-Krieges inspizierend. Der Kaiser mit Helm und langem Mantel, mit der rechten Hand zur Seite weisend, in der linken die Zügel führend. Das Pferd im Schritt mit vom Wind verwehter Mähne. Auf der Plinthe zerbrochenes Kriegsgerät und eine gefallene französische Standarte. Auf der Plinthe signiert "A. Herzig 1879". Zaumzeug defekt, die Degenscheide geknickt, größerer Riss am rechten Oberarm. Höhe 63 cm, Länge 64 cm, Gewicht 38 kg.
August Albert Theodor Herzig (* 3. August 1846 in Hamburg; † 11. Juli 1919 in Dresden), deutscher Bildhauer. Begann um 1865 ein Studium an der Hamburger Gewerbeschule. Von 1872 bis 1875 studierte er an der Dresdner Kunstakademie bei Ernst Julius Hähnel und Johannes Schilling. Neben Denkmälern und Figuren für öffentliche Plätze deutscher Städte, wie z.B. Darmstadt und Hamburg, entwarf er auch verschiedene Künstlerfiguren für die Porzellanmanufaktur Meissen.

Patinated bronze. The Kaiser is portrayed in uniform on horseback, inspecting one of the battlefields of the Franco-Prussian War. The Kaiser with a helmet and long overcoat, pointing to the side with his right hand, holding the reins in his left. As the horse strides out, its mane is ruffled by the wind. Broken military equipment and a fallen French standard on the plinth. The plinth signed "A. Herzig 1879". The bridle broken, the scabbard bent, a sizeable crack on the right upper arm. Height 63 cm, length 64 cm, weight 38 kg.
August Albert Theodor Herzig (* 3. August 1846 in Hamburg; † 11. Juli 1919 in Dresden) was a German sculptor. He started his studies at the Hamburg School of Crafts in 1865. From 1872 to 1875, he studied at the Dresden Art Academy under Ernst Julius Hähnel and Johannes Schilling. In addition to monuments and statues for public squares in German cities, such as Darmstadt and Hamburg, he designed various figures of artists for the Porzellanmanufaktur Meissen.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
