A LARGE SILK EMBROIDERY DEPICTING BIRDS AND FLORAL MOTIFS - China, 19th c. - Creamy white silk satin embroidered with colored silk in satin stitch.In the center a peacock and a pheasant beneath bamboo and blooming peonies and magnolias. Smaller songbirds sitting in the branches.Usually such large hangings were used to decorate the rooms and the birds depicted were indications of the rank of the host. - Former European private collection, acquired prior to 2007Minor traces of use

Cremeweißer Seidensatin, bestickt mit farbiger Seide in Plattstich.Im Zentrum ein Pfau und ein Fasan unter Bambus und blühenden Päonien und Magnolien. In den Zweigen sitzen weitere Singvögel.Meist wurden solche großen Behänge zur Dekoration der Räumlichkeiten verwendet und die dargestellten Vögel waren Hinweise auf den Rang des Gastgebers.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments.
