Gekrümmte, zweischneidige Klinge mit beidseitigem Mittelgrat. Am Ansatz beidseitig ornamentale Goldtauschierung (berieben). Einteilig gearbeiteter Griff aus Elefantenelfenbein mit fein geschnitztem und graviertem Dekor. Beidseitig Darstellung einer Gottheit, darüber auf dem Knauf ein Drache. Hölzerne Scheide mit roter Samtbespannung (berieben). Ort- und Mundblech aus Elfenbein mit geschnitztem Dekor. Länge 52,5 cm.

A large Indian ivory mounted khanjar, 1st half of the 19th century
Curved double-edged blade with medial ridge on both sides. The forte decorated with ornamental gold damascening (rubbed) on both sides. The grip made of one piece of finely carved and engraved elephant ivory. Portrayal of a deity on both sides, dragon pommel at top. Wooden sheath covered with red velvet (rubbed). Chape and locket of carved ivory. Length 52.5 cm.
