Großer facettierter Glasbecher aus transluzentem, hellbeigem Glas. Geschliffene Halbkugelform mit gestuften Flächen, die ein Wabengitter bilden. Keine Bestoßungen. Intakt. Durchmesser 11,5 cm. Höhe 9 cm. Außerordentlich gut erhalten!
Sassanidisches Glas wurde bis in den Fernen Osten exportiert. Eine eng verwandte Schale in Tokio kann in die Zeit vor 535 datiert werden, das Todesjahr des Kaisers Ankan, in dessen Grab sie gefunden wurde.

A late Sassanian glass beaker, 5th - 7th century
Huge facetted glass beaker of deep hemispherical form. Translucent, light beige glass. Cut with stepped bands of roundels forming a honeycomb lattice. No chips. Intact. Diameter 11.5 cm. Height 9 cm. Extraordinarily well preserved.
Sassanian glass was exported all the way to the Far East. A closely related bowl in Tokyo can be dated to pre-535, the year of the death of the Emperor Ankan, in whose tomb it was found.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
