Fein geknüpfter Wandteppich aus farbiger Wolle. Vor weiter architektonischer Kulisse findet prominent im Vordergrund eine energiegeladene Kampfszene statt: Coriolanus in prächtiger Rüstung greift stürmisch einen seiner Ädilen an, der mit ausdrucksstarken Gebärden zurückschreckt. Das Geschehen im Mittelpunkt wird auf beiden Seiten von mitgenommen aussehenden Figurengruppen flankiert. Feine umlaufende Bordüre mit Festons aus Früchten und Blättern. Stellenweise berieben bzw. verschlissen. Maße ca. 260 x 340 cm.
Der Karton wurde nach Henri Lerambert (1550-1608) und Antoine Caron (1521-1599) in Paris gefertigt. Ein identischer Wandteppich befindet sich in der Sammlung von Tours, Hotel du Département, conseil général.

A finely knotted tapestry of coloured wool. An energetic battle scene takes place foregrounded in front of an architectonic scenery: Coreolanus, in splendid armour, stormily attacks one of his aediles, who recoils with expressive gestures. The scene in the centre is flanked by tired looking figures. Fine surrounding border with festoons of fruits and leaves. Rubbed and worn in places. Dimensions ca. 260 x 340 cm.
The tapestry cartoon was designed by Henri Lerambert (1550-1608) and Antoine Caron (1521-1599) in Paris. An identical tapestry can be found in the Collection of Tours, Hotel du Département, conseil général.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
