Leicht gewölbter eiserner Schild mit verschraubtem achtkantigen Stoßdorn. Erhaben getriebener Liliendekor. Umlaufend eiserne Futternieten, der Rand passig geschrägt. Futter und Schildfessel fehlen. Rückseite mit Korrosionspatina. Durchmesser 68 cm, Gewicht 7,8 kg. Eine schwarz-weiße Brustplatte mit ähnlichem Dekor befindet sich in der Sammlung des Schlosses Konopiste südlich von Prag.
A large bullet proof shield (rondache), Nuremberg, circa 1600
Slightly domed iron shield with bolted octagonal spike. Embossed with a raised fleur-de-lis motif. Surrounding iron lining rivets, bevelled edge. Lining and strap missing. The reverse with corrosion patina. Diameter 68 cm, weight 7.8 kg. A black and white breastplate with similar ornamentation is housed in the collection of Konopiste Castle south of Prague.
