Großer geschnitzter Elfenbeinzahn mit halbplastischen Darstellungen aus der Geschichte der Herzöge von Württemberg. An der linken Seite die Darstellung der Belagerung von Stuttgart durch Rudolf von Habsburg, auf der Gegenseite die Gefangennahme der Schleger, im Hintergrund die brennende Burg Berneck. Auf der Oberseite behelmtes Wappen der Herzöge von Württemberg, umgeben von Ranken- und Trophäendekor. Der Ansatz in Form eines Wolfskopfes gearbeitet. Eine Hängeöse verloren. Länge 85 cm, Gewicht 2,84 kg.
Die beiden Bildszenen sind nach der Vorlage der heute zerstörten Fresken im neuen Schloss Stuttgart von Hofmaler Joseph Anton Gegenbaur (1800-1876) gestaltet.

Provenienz: Ehemals Bestand des Elfenbeinmuseums in Erbach.

A large carved ivory tusk with depictions in half relief showing scenes from the history of the dukes of Württemberg. On the left side, a representation of the siege of Stuttgart by Rudolf von Habsburg, the other side featuring the capture of the Schleger, with Berneck Castle in flames in the background. At the top, the helmeted coat of arms of the dukes of Württemberg, surrounded by tendrils and trophy décor. The root carved in the shape of a wolf's head. One suspension loop has been lost. Length 85 cm, weight 2.84 kg.The two tableaux were modelled on the frescoes in the New Palace Stuttgart by court painter Joseph Anton Gegenbaur (1800-1876), which have since been destroyed.

Provenance: Formerly part of the collection at the German Ivory Museum in Erbach.
