Description: The cylindrical body with a strong eared handle, hinged lid and handle in the shape of a
lion with a ball on three ball feet held by bird claws. Three large, animated engraved
cartouches with C-sweeps and acanthus decoration on the side. Inside, equally finely
engraved depictions of the three Christian virtues Fides, Spes and Caritas, each with a
landscape background. Engraved tendrils on the top of the lid and Cupid with quiver and
arrows in the centre. Six-part scale on the inside of the side in the form of small ball
rivets for measuring the filling quantity.
Weight: Ca. 110g.

Mark: Inspection mark Augsburg 1757-59 (Seling no.2170), maker's mark MOS (?) ligated (uninterpreted), zigzag assay mark.
